The Tree of Life is a model drawn from the Jewish Kabbalah.
It reveals the formation of energy and life from spirit.
In the beginning, there was nothing.
This was called the Ain Soph Aur, the Absolute Limitless Light.
A void was formed, separate from the Ain Soph Aur.
Energy from the Ain Soph Aur was transmitted into this void.
The first point where this energy formed was called Kether the Crown.

The Sepher Yetzirah, the Jewish Book of Formation, describes the process.
From Kether, the energy developed through a process of expansion and contraction.
One by one, Ten Sephiroth were created in sequential order.
Sephiroth is a word meaning “emanations”.
These Sephiroth became known as the ten numbers from which all other numbers are created.
Connecting each of the Sephiroth are the 22 Paths.
The 22 Paths became known as the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
As the energy expanded and contracted it formed in the pattern of a Lightning Flash.

The Tree of Life is structured on three vertical columns known as Pillars.
The Middle Pillar is the Pillar of Balance, Neutrality, Mildness and Equilibrium.
The right-hand Pillar is the Pillar of Force – expansion, active, masculine.
The left-hand pillar is the Pillar of Form – contraction, passive, feminine.
The energy becomes more and more dense as it descends, becoming further from the source.
There are four Kabbalistic Worlds or planes through which the energy transitions.
Atziluth is the World of Emanation or Spirit.
Beriah is the World of Creation or Mind.
Yetzirah is the World of Formation or Emotion.
Assiyah is the World of Manifestation or Physical Body.
The Tree of Life model that you see here is my interpretation.

There are four archways as you progress down the Middle Pillar of the Tree of Life Spiritual Walk.
Each of these archways represents a transition of consciousness from one Kabbalistic World to the next.
In between each archway, on the Middle Pillar, there is a point of balance where two opposing dual forces meet and find balance.
These points on the Middle Pillar align with the seven Chakras.

Beneath Malkuth (Kingdom), the lowest of the Sephiroth, my model descends via the Wheel of Life to Earth.
On Earth, the four layers of the Kabbalistic Worlds – spirit, mind, emotions & body – mesh together as one living soul.
This is the Hebrew word Nephesh.
The earth consists of four quadrants which relate to the human functions and the elements.
Fire – Spirit, Earth – Action, Air - Mind, Water – Emotion.
When the physical existence on earth becomes a search for enlightenment, the soul returns upward via the Wheel of Life to Malkuth.
The search for enlightenment follows the paths, through each of the Kabbalistic Worlds and the Sephiroth, eventually returning to Spirit.

The complete structure of the Tree of Life Spiritual Walk, sitting encircled within a tree-lined perimeter, represents the World.
The Tarot Major Arcana card of the World is numbered XXI which is Roman Numeral notation for 21.
The World is known as the 22nd card or path.
The World is the embodiment of Everything.
The dual opposite of the Ain Soph Aur which is Nothing.
