Hi, my name is Mark Carter.
Birth date, 14 March 1956
Life Path 12
Archetype of the Hanged Man.
My Story
I was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Most of my schooling was undertaken there.
Something like 21 primary schools.
I lost count.
Growing up in a family controlled by child abuse is a great teacher.
On 2nd May 1975 I was sworn in as a Queensland Police Officer.
When I was around 21 my work as a Police Officer took me outside of Brisbane.
Proserpine, Maryborough, Biggenden, Toowoomba, Charleville
Eventually I returned to Brisbane.
I worked as a police officer from 1975 to 1993.
Excellent training and exposure to people in trouble.
Ultimately stress break-down and depression are also wonderful teachers.
At a counselling session one day, in the waiting room, I read a poster about women and victims of domestic violence.
The poster said "If you could answer Yes to more than 8 of the questions then you are likely a victim."
I could answer Yes to at least 12 of the questions.
I realised I was a victim of domestic violence by my wife at that time.
I also realised how you can set yourself up to be a victim of that violence.
We are all players in the drama.
I am a survivor of child abuse, marital abuse and violence, marriage breakdown, divorce, post-traumatic stress disorder and depression.
Rising from the ashes I rebuilt myself.
Studied at university - Bachelor degree in Info Tech.
My natural tendency was to study psychology.
But at this time I was not prepared to dive back into the waters of human relationships.
I returned to work as a Business Analyst (the degree helped a bit).
But I am a natural at getting involved and engaging with people on a deeper level.
I studied courses on counselling (Certificate 3 in Advanced Counselling).
I needed to support my habit of getting involved in helping people in this way.
In 2008 I escaped from Brisbane to Earth & Soul.
Our 300 acre natural bushland property.
Situated 12km outside of Stanthorpe on the Granite Belt in south-east Queensland.
I was again working in a soul-destroying job that fortunately paid the bills.
I needed something that gave me spiritual meaning in life.
The challenge is to make the best out of how life turns out.
This is when I set about designing and building the Tree of Life Spiritual Walk.

This is when I set about designing and building the Tree of Life Spiritual Walk.
All of my years studying the Tree of Life became real.
Instead of reading about it, I could walk it.
This practical application was completely fulfilling.
Several years later, I needed more.
Still working in the same soul-less job.
I designed and built the Earth & Soul Labyrinth.

I designed and built the Earth & Soul Labyrinth.
Here I have found my true self and identity.
I came to realise that my life and work has been about preparation.
My wife and I have now developed Earth & Soul Retreat.
(see earthandsoulretreat.com.au)
Together with the Tree of Life Spiritual Walk and the Earth & Soul Labyrinth, we have over 18 kms of walking trails in nature.
My god is in Nature.
More and more I immerse myself in the reading and study that fills my life with dreams
Spirituality - Numerology - Tarot - Sacredness - Counselling - Psychology.

Making sense of the Journey.
I've been exploring Numerology & Tarot since I was 14 or so.
My mum used to occasionally go to a café in an arcade in the city in Brisbane.
For the cost of a pot of tea and some cake you were also offered some "entertainment".
Back in that time it was not legal to sell any form of fortune telling.
The "entertainment" such as tea leaf reading, Tarot, and palm reading was considered to be free.
Every now and then I had the chance to go with my Mum.
This was my introduction to the occult.
If I hadn't been born into the family that raised me there is so much that may have been different.
I may never have been introduced to Tarot, Numerology and Spirituality.
I may never have gone down the path of seeking a better way and healing.
I may never have followed my calling.
Over the years Religion, Spirituality, Numerology & Tarot have intrigued me.
Arthur Edward Waite (The Pictorial Key to the Tarot)
Papus (The Tarot of the Bohemians)
A wall of such books now fills my study.
Dr David Phillips (Secrets of the Inner Self)
This opened my mind to Numerology.
Juno Jordan, Julia Seton, and L Dow Balliett followed.
I searched for clues to substantiate their reasoning.
Reading books on the Kabbalah, I realised "This is a dog's breakfast".
All of these topics are feeding from the same energy.
The more I immersed myself in it, the more I realised that a lot of them didn't make sense.
Making practical sense of the spiritual teachings.
Understanding and applying Numerology & Tarot.
All of these together have helped me to make my life a success.
This is mainly because it has helped me to understand me and to make sense of what happens in life.
We are all on a journey and it is essential to honour that journey.
My only way forward was to document my own beliefs and practices.
I wrote & self-published my first book.
"A New Way to See Things. Theory & Practice of Numerology"
Subsequently you have this unique method of calculation and interpretation.
A refreshing approach to the subject of Numerology.
Definitely not just a rehash of what has come before.
Well considered and thought out.
An approach to Numerology that challenges and redefines the subject of Numerology itself.
The Tree of Life, Numerology & Tarot, combine as an integrated system of analysis.
Thank you for taking this journey with me.
